The event will build upon the first four National Town Meetings on Demand Response that have been widely acclaimed for bringing together the demand response communityif you are part of that community or want to be, dont hesitate to sign up and attend!
The National Town Meeting brings the Demand Response Community together to exchange information and discuss the latest issues of and topics involving demand response and the smart grid. Past attendees have come from utilities, RTOs/ISOs, technology companies, the research community and the finance industry. The Town Meeting also is known for having a high attendance from the public sector, with many federal and state policymakers participating.

National Council on Electricity Policy's Annual Planning Meeting

Washington, DC Each year the National Council on Electricity Policy (National Council) meets to review current projects and examine the strategic needs of electricity policy officials. This year the annual planning meeting will focus on the nexus between electricity policy and emerging climate change issues. Day one will have a host of speakers framing emerging electricity and climate policy issues. Day two will explore a National Council strategy for improving coordination between state, federal and regional electricity/climate change programs. The National Council planning meeting is open to any state or federal energy/air official, but final decisions about strategic activities will be made by the National Council Policy Committee.

The Center for Climate Strategies (CCS) is a nonpartisan, nonprofit partnership organization that helps government entities and their stakeholders develop and implement actions to reduce greenhouse gas pollution and adapt to a changing climate. The CCS will present key policy actions to reduce emissions via technologies and best practices for end-use efficiency and conservation.

More than Transmission: Exploring Regional Approaches to Electricity Resource Planning in the Southeast

New Orleans, LA On November 19, 2008 between noon and 4:00 PM the National Council on Electricity Policy will conduct an executive dialogue on regional resource planning for state officials from the southeast. The event will be conducted at the Sheraton New Orleans located on historic Canal Street in New Orleans, LA.
The November 19th event is designed to identify strategies for maximizing regional electricity resources through interstate and intrastate cooperation in the Southeast. The goal of the dialogue is to develop a preliminary list of actions to enable greater electricity and environmental coordination. Dialogue participants represent state energy agencies, utility and environmental regulators, governors staff and legislative bodies involved in electricity system planning.
